In honor of Valentine’s Day, we thought it only appropriate to talk about the special relationships that have made Office Gallery what it is today.

Allen and Gwen Wluka founded Office Gallery International in 1989.  Allen and Gwen spent much of their early career at Scandinavian Design which is where their story started. Allen managed the Office Gallery division and Gwen was the Store Manager in Cambridge.  They just celebrated their 33rd anniversary.  Together they took a leap of faith to start their own business. And Office Gallery was born!

In 1995, Michael Troia joined Office Gallery once again working with his good friends and former colleagues from Scandinavian Design.  By this point, Michael had also already met his future wife and business partner Hilary, when they both worked at Jordan Marsh (now Macy’s) in Braintree – Michael as the Manager of the Furniture Division, and Hilary an Assistant Store Manager.  Hilary would later continue her career at Office Gallery, and as the Wlukas started to think about stepping back from the business, they realized they already had the best people in place to take the business into the future.

The relationship between the Wlukas and the Troias is what led to the seamless transition from one husband-and-wife leadership team to the next, but those are not the only important Office Gallery relationships.  Take, for example, Jordana Wluka-Bishop.  Jordana now serves as director of operations for Office Gallery, but she originally joined the organization in 2004, with the intent of only helping her aunt and uncle temporarily.  Or look at the longevity of our star delivery team, made up of Chris and Scott, who have been with Office Gallery for over 10 years!

It’s not just these relationships among our staff of Office Gallery International, but also the special relationships with our customers, who keep coming back to us through the years, and who continue to refer people and organizations with whom they have special relationships.

We are so grateful for all our relationships – personal relationships, professional relationships, longstanding relationships throughout the community, and trusted and dependable relationships with furniture suppliers nationwide – that have built Office Gallery to what it is today.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
